ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work with Engineers to establish, set up, and perform tests and data analysis on subject products
  • Work with Engineers to develop wiring harnesses, software testing, and debugging electrical/electronic issues.
  • Develop test procedures and processes to ensure products are tested correctly and thoroughly
  • Support product development teams and projects.
  • Support Manufacturing with testing.
  • Work with supply chain management to ensure suitable replacement of components through component qualification testing as required
  • Maintain the performance, quality and calibration of lab equipment
  • Ensure clean and safe work environment

LEVEL OF RESPONSIBILITY:

  • Under minimal supervision, performs varied and complex tasks
  • Applies advanced skills to perform functions within the assigned area
  • Adapts new procedures, techniques, and tools to meet the more complex requirements of the position
  • Resolves most questions and problems, may serve as a resource on several topics, and refers only the most complex issues to higher levels
  • May train, assign and check the work of other employees

JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Hands-on set-up and testing experience
  • Knowledge of data acquisition systems, Microsoft Excel, testing equipment, and procedures
  • Ability to troubleshoot and analyze circuit diagrams.
  • Ability to create and set up test scenarios for new development and troubleshoot existing of products
  • Ability to read, record, interpret, and/or create technical data and documents required.
  • Ability to read, interpret and create electronic schematics and modify PCB circuits as needed for test instrumentation and rework.
  • Ability to take initiative and be a self-starter. Work with minimal supervision and have a hands-on approach to problem-solving.
  • Strong interpersonal skills. Ability to function as a “team player and work constructively and cooperatively with all departments in the interests of the business.
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal), including excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate with all organizational elements and motivate people in a positive e, constructive manner.
  • Ability to analyze test data and provide detailed and summary reports of findings

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Associates degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering Technology or equivalent degree from an accredited college or university and 2+ years executing engineering tests in a professional lab environment and/or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • 1+ years’ experience with electronic rework stations for soldering and part replacement in embedded designs.
