ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Must own and maintain product agency compliance and submittal process, including new product submissions, design changes, and compliance audits.
- Manages the interaction and costs associated with various compliance agencies
- Advise Product Engineers and Management of any current and upcoming agency changes that may affect our products’ performance and/or ability to remain in the marketplace.
- Interacts and oversees UL, NSF, CSA, ASME, CE, and regional product compliance agencies.
- Work hand in hand with Product Engineering when cost improvement and product improvement suggestions are found or determined.
- Take the lead in providing information and coordinating that the approval agency is satisfied.
- Ability to work alone or in small teams and conduct business remotely away from the home office.
- Regular travel is required to the company’s manufacturing locations and potentially compliance agency testing facilities.
JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Experience and knowledge of compliance standards IE: UL, NSF, CSA, Energy Star, CEC and NEC Protocols and Standards
- Understanding of Commercial Foodservice Industry Product lines
- Must have a broad manufacturing experience base with a curious nature and the ability to drill down to find solutions to difficult questions.
- Background in refrigeration, gas combustion, and/or electrical-electronic controls in the foodservice equipment industry would be advantageous.
- Self-starter, able to work with little supervision
- Hands-on set-up and testing experience
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Must have a team spirit attitude.
- Must have an analytical viewpoint
- Detail oriented.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- B.S. degree with a concentration in Engineering or related field and 3-5 years of related experience or
- Equivalent experience as a Compliance Engineer (minimum 10 years of related experience)
WORKING CONDITION:
- General office environment with scheduled time on manufacturing production floor.
