ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage the quality system and corrective action process.  Document and communicate the issues and actions necessary to drive improvements.
  • Ensure quality documentation is complete and accurate.
  • Meet goals set to improve quality of products and key processes.
  • Supervise, motivate and develop subordinates to optimize their performance and their professional growth.
  • Ensure that company standard practices and procedures are followed in connection with all related functions.
  • Manage special projects and serve on project teams as assigned.
  • Provide manufacturing work instructions when useful (e.g. product specific assembly, key processes, testing).
  • Manage the ISO quality system and discipline
  • Lead lean events and tactics as it relates to quality
  • Maintain all American Society of Manufacturing Engineering (ASME) requirements.
  • Maintain all Pressure Equipment Directive (PED) requirements. 
  • Lead product reliability improvement projects with associated cross functional team
  • Coordinate with production control to expedite emergency customer issues.

JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Excellent computer skills including the use of Excel, Word and an ERP system, preferably Oracle.
  • Understanding of regulatory requirements (ISO,ASME, PED, NSF, UL, CU).
  • Good interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate personnel by example.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to make decisions with reasonable information.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree required. Prefer Bachelor’s degree in an engineering field.
  • Five plus years in ISO manufacturing environment
  • Five plus years manufacturing experience, preferably in a sheet metal environment.
  • Prior supervisory experience is preferred.

WORKING CONDITION:

  • General office and manufacturing plant environment.
